Ambient Assisted Living - Call 4 open till 30 June

The objective of the AAL Joint Programme is to enhance the quality of life of older people and strengthen the industrial base in Europe through the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). The motivation of the new funding activity is in the demographic change and ageing in Europe, which implies not only challenges but also opportunities for the citizens, the social and healthcare systems as well as industry and the European market.
The AAL Association will announce the 4th Call for proposals of the AAL Joint Programme: “ICT based solutions for Advancement of Older Persons’ Mobility”.
The call aims at development of ICT-based solutions which will help older persons to sustain their optimal level of mobility
for as long as possible, as well as enhance their individual sense of confidence, autonomy, competence, security and safety.
The Call addresses issues that inherently enable older people‟s mobility in terms of moving in the home and/or outside the home.
The following topical areas are in the scope of the Call:
1. Orientation and navigation
2. Assistive Technology
Call 4 was launched on 30 March 2011 and will be open till 30 June 2011.
