Alps Bio Cluster Brussels Event
September, 21st 2011 – 14:00 / 17:00 Rhône-Alpes Region Delegation (62, rue du Trône – Brussels)
Alps Bio Cluster best practices and prospects will be presented to different European stakeholders. A round table with a panel of EC representatives (DG REGIO, DG ENTR, DG RTD) will be held on the Cluster policy under the Europe 2020 Strategy and Horizon 2020.
Alps Bio Cluster is a project funded by the Alpine Space Programme. It is a transnational cooperation between 8 clusters from 6 transalpine European regions: Upper Bavaria in Germany, Tyrol in Austria, Lombardy and Piedmont in Italy, Western Switzerland and Rhône-Alpes in France. The aim is to establish a meta cluster fostering Biotech and Medtech sectors in the Alpine Space through economic development support and collaborative promotion under a common Alpine identity:
“A healthy life at home in the Alps in a natural environment worth to be preserved”.
The governance model and the international marketing proposal developed in order to ensure the sustainability of our meta cluster are made concrete by the signature of a MOU. At the same time, the launching of the macro regional strategy for the Alpine Space in 2012 during the MidTerm Conference of the Alpine Space Programme in June 2011 is perfectly consistent with the formalization of our meta cluster.
