Following the success of the Summer
School 2010 on biotechnologies in Germany, Alps Bio Cluster, with the
collaboration of local partners (Adebag and phD school EDISCE among
others), is organizing a Summer School in Grenoble (France) on "medical
technology". It will gather 25 phD and master degree students from
Europe and worldwide for one week, to attend conferences on applied
research in medtech, to visit emerging or established medtech companies
, to work in teams on concrete industrial projects for the process from
lab to market, and to discover Grenoble and surroundings through social
events.
The objectives
The conferences, visits and teamworks,
will enable to :
• give students a
global vision of medtech's field
• make students aware of the industrial challenges in order to optimize their professionnal insertion
• show students the innovation's process by the experience
• strengthen interactivity between students, and links between industrial and university
• highlight Grenoble’s assets in the medtech field at the international level
• enable companies to open their doors and create links with their future employees
• highlights the added value by the multicultural and multidisciplinary approach on a concrete project

The conferences – July 18

The visits – July 19-22
The visits are
focused on “the process of innovation and the industrial challenges in
medical technologies”, and cover the range of skills of Grenoble. Thus
the participants will visit leaders companies such as bioMérieux on the thematic of
diagnotic, Becton Dickinson on the
thematic of drug delivery, and Trixell on
the thematic of medical imaging. They
will also attend the presentation of Roche Diagnostic's
activities. Finally they
will discover the visionary platform ECCAMI (Excellence
Center for Computer Assisted Medical Interventions) with start-ups in
surgical robotic such as SQI (Surgiqual
Institute).
The teamworks – July 19-22
Students will be in group of 5, in order to provide a multicultural and multidisplinary approach on the process from lab to market for a concrete medtech project. They will be autonomous, but expert tutors in technology transfer and valorization, from Floralis, will be there to answer their questions and give advices.
